My Kindergartner has come home day after day, since November, with questions and concerns about President Elect(at the time) Barack Obama. It has been an amazing opportunity to explain to her our "non negotiables" in regards to his stand on issues. While I didn't go into what each of those were, I was able to stress to her the importance of knowing what you believe and standing up for it 100%. It also gave me an opportunity to explain to her that even though he may not believe in everything I do, he is our leader and as you pointed out, we need to be prayerful for him and support him in the way we can, without loosing sight of our beliefs. So, on Tuesday she was so excited to be able to see him sworn into office. I am so thankful that my children think it is absolutely insane that someone might not be able to go to school or ride a bus because of their color. So, to share this event in class was exactly what I think any good educator should have done. God Bless you and your staff! Dr. Taylor,

Being "empty nesters" now, I also reflect on the many pictures Jane has around the house and I have at work of my family, especially since I am having withdrawals of having both boys at home occasionally over the summer and now back at their respective colleges.
